1) How long have you been teaching?
I have been an educator for almost 14 years. I started my career at Chino Hills Christian preschool working as a preschool teacher and a Kindergarten Aide. I also taught P.E., Music, and Computers to the students there. This is my 10th year teaching 3rd grade at Ontario Christian School, I love it! I am thankful to be a part of the OC family and I feel blessed to work at such a wonderful school!
2) What has God been teaching you?
God has been teaching me a lot, especially lately. I am so grateful for God’s continued faithfulness to me throughout my life. The Lord led my husband Dave and I together and then He blessed us with our wonderful son last year. It hasn’t always been easy to wait patiently for God to work out His plan for my life, but I am realizing that I need to step back and trust in His perfect timing. Proverbs 3:5-6 has always been one of my favorite verses. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
3) What is something about you that most people don’t know?
Most people don’t know that I lived in Tijuana, Mexico for a summer after college working as a missionary for YWAM (Youth With A Mission). I used to speak Spanish quite well, but I’ve lost it over the years. While there we mainly built houses for the poor, and we evangelized to the people through drama and vacation Bible school programs. We worked with youth groups from all over and spent time studying and worshiping God with our team. It was an amazing experience and I am grateful for the way that God used me to bless the people and share His love with them.
